Condensing volumes of science, I will give you the basics:
1. When we eat foods like pasta, bread, oranges, potatoes and a few others, our body releases hormones to store that food. These hormones, unfortunately, cause us to be hungrier and to feel lethargic. This is at the root of why we overeat. It's not your fault. It’s not a sign of weakness, or a lack of discipline. It's your food choices.
2. These foods, for some, have an addictive quality. Simply stated, the more you eat, the more you want.
Have you ever wondered why it’s easy to eat a bag of potato chips but hard to finish a pound of steak? There's a reason we order pizzas at the drop of a hat!
3. When we eat foods that stimulate less of certain hormones, like steak, salmon, eggs, avocados and berries to name a few, our hunger is suppressed. We feel fuller for longer, and our energy levels return. We don't feel like we are depriving ourselves. We get full from smaller plates of food. Naturally.
The ocean of information out there is choppy, to say the least. It is riddled with conflicting info, outdated science, missing pieces, and a lack of evidence.
I’m here to pass on all the knowledge I’ve learned along the way, so you can know what sustainable flexible lifestyle eating is all about.
