Back in March 2015 I hit my highest weight of 275 pounds on my 6’1” frame. At 47, I thought age had caught up with me, suddenly!
My health and body shape were on the slide, I had sleep issues, poor test results from my doctor, and a few other ‘age-related’ afflictions (we won’t go there right now). Yes, the fact was I was ageing, pretty quickly.
I decided I wasn’t doing enough to help myself; it was time to dig deep and go on my best diet yet. I was great at diets. I’d done all of them. Some 2-3 times. I think that makes me an expert, and this time I was serious. I would eat super low calorie and commit to jogging as many miles as I could every day. I would do a 24-hour juice fast once a week, start making healthy vegetables and fruit shakes, and drink protein shakes 1-2 times a day in lieu of foods I couldn’t trust. Sound familiar?
Of course you get the frustration I felt, when after only a few days, I was ordering a pizza. I’d let myself down, again. Since my early teens, I have bought into every new supplement, fat burner, and fat loss program on the market. Looking at my current situation, I think it was fair to say they were all a failure.
After a few months, my progress was negligible, still 265 pounds and struggling. I was frustrated, fed up, and still feeling pretty badly about myself.
It was then I set out on a quest to find out how human biology works. I will save you all the science mumbo jumbo for now, but what I will tell you is the way we've been taught to he healthy, was far from what human biology supports.
Walking through this new door, I learned I wasn’t a bad person due to my choices. I learned that my body was miswired as a result of all the “healthy” choices I thought I had been making.
1. I was not broken
2. I was not a glutton
3. I was not beyond repair
Once learning the process (which I will tell you evolved as my ability to interpret the science evolved) I then went from an overweight 267 lbs musician to a 199 lbs skinny marathon runner in about 6 months, running multiple marathons fasted!! Fat Adaptation in full effect!
In later 2018/early 2019 I decided to refocused on muscle, health and nutrient density. This is when I applied the science of fat adaptation to body recomposition and put on 20 lbs of muscle in about a year and a half
This is what I can teach you. Are you ready to get started?
